Safety City is operated by the City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation Department.
Safety City is a unique kid-sized town where school age children learn hands-on the rules of pedestrian, bicycle and traffic safety. More than 6,000 kids go through the program each year.
Safety City has expanded its program to include seat belt education and hosting on-site Safety Fairs that attract area hospitals and safety organizations. But we offer much more through our special programs and services. Come join us!

Walkers Welcome
Safety City is open mornings for parents and children who may want to come walk for exercise or just plain fun. You can bring your children in their strollers and walk on the quiet sidewalks and streets of Safety City. It's safe, supervised and away from traffic--and it's free!
Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
Field Trips and Tours
Groups who may be interested in a future safety class can tour the facility by contacting Safety City and scheduling an appointment.
Children learn about car, bike and pedestrian safety according to age. Great for scout troops and church groups!
COST:
$4 per child.
Birthday Parties
Safety City can be rented for private birthday parties during the summer. We provide cake, punch, "Goody Bags," supervision and playtime.
Up to 10 children with cake: $100 for the group.
Each additional child $7.50 each.
